Meet Rodette Williams.

Training Coordinator

Whitby, ON

What inspired you to enter and pursue this field?

Passion for learning and helping others to learn and excel.

How did you come to be in this position?

I started on the phones at a call center after being unable to find a job in my field (Biochemistry). During training I created my own job aids to simply material...it was shared with colleagues and eventually the training team that loved them. I was an OJT staple and had great rapport on calls. Supervisor thought I should be a trainer. I applied and no looking back. It’s perfect as I do still use my technical research and knowledge translation skills to help others learn/retain new information.

What advice would you give young women looking to enter your current line of work?

You don’t have be the most knowledgeable in the room but you should be the most curious...ask questions and engage!
