Meet Krissy Taylor.

Pipefitter, Steamfitter

Sarnia, ON

What inspired you to enter and pursue this field?

Growing up in Sarnia (chemical valley). My father always worked in the industry and I always wanted to follow in his foot steps.

How did you come to be in this position?

To become a pipe fitter you must complete an aptitude test. After being successful on the test you must go through a series of interviews. Then if your successful in those you start an apprenticeship. I am an apprentice now. To complete the apprenticeship I have to work in the field and go to school. Then I have to write another test to become a journeyman.

What advice would you give young women looking to enter your current line of work?

If you study hard the results are worth it.
