Singer, Actor, Entrepreneur
What inspired you to enter and pursue this field?
For as long as I can remember I knew I was going to be on stage. A professional singer/actor/ dancer. After doing that very successfully for 20 years I realized the importance of diversifying my income and that I wasn't defined solely by being an Artist. Having a Plan B, for a little work/ life balance. So I started an e-commerce/ health and wellness business. And now I get to teach others work/life can be fluid and change as we mature and grow ourselves. And doing so actually makes you a better Artist.
How did you come to be in this position?
A lot of hard work and patience. Many times in my career I've been called LUCKY! I truly believe LUCK is when hard work and opportunity meet. It's up to us to be ready. As a younger woman I had tunnel vision when it came to pursuing my career as a performer. I had no time for anything else. I was grateful to be living my biggest and best life on stage. As I matured, I realized how much life was passing me by simply living to work!! Even if "the work" was all I ever dreamed of. When I decided to pivot into my journey as an entrepreneur all the same habits applied when it came to building a successful business.
What advice would you give young women looking to enter your current line of work?
Do 1 thing everyday to move your business forward. That served me well as a performer and now as a business owner. Be kind. Be authentic. Be you, everyone else is taken. And don't forget to celebrate the small wins.
