Meet Hanieh Khoshkhou.

Publisher; Business Development Director; Author

Toronto, ON

What inspired you to enter and pursue this field?

Seeing the lack of representation when it comes to diverse authors.

How did you come to be in this position?

After having been actually accepted by an American publisher to have my first book published, my business partner (at the time friend) and I decided to forgo this and start our own independent publishing company that gave voice to unheard voices. We haven't looked back since!

What advice would you give young women looking to enter your current line of work?

Best advice: Don't accept no for an answer! your doubts will creep in and make you constantly question what you have done and where you are going. If at the end of it all you ask yourself "is there anything else you want to do?" and you still want to continue to do the work you are, then you have chosen correctly.

I am grateful and privileged to have lived and experienced everything I have always wanted to up until this point in my life. I have no regrets and I have finally arrived at a point in my life where I am so so very comfortable in the skin I live in.
